If you are on regular medication your prescription is likely to have been computerised. Attached to it will be the white side of the prescription, listing all your regular medication. When you need more, bring or send it (with a SAE if you would like the prescription sent to you) to the practice indicating what you require.
Patients are reminded that we require 3 working days to process a prescription request. GP's have time allocated to sign off prescriptions and therefore cannot rush through a prescription if it has not been ordered with enough time. Urgent prescriptions cannot be dealt with on the same day.
Prescriptions can be sent directly to most pharmacies, avoiding your need to come in and pick up your prescription. Please ask at reception or at your local pharmacy for more information and to register your nominated pharmacy.
If you are not able to bring or send your request to the surgery, you can order your prescription by telephone. Ring 01883 331509 between 2.00 – 4.00pm only Monday to Friday. Please allow up to 72 hours for your prescription to be processed. If you would prefer to order your prescription on-line, please call in to reception with photographic ID to register. **Please note that as the practice will be closed from 12.30pm on Tuesday 17th March for staff training, the Prescription Line will also be closed that day**
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
The EPS service allows for the electronic transmission of prescriptions from the GP practice, straight to the pharmacy without the need to print the prescription. This can make the prescribing of medications quicker, safer and easier for patients. This also means that if you are signed up for EPS, then there is no longer a need to pick up paper prescriptions from the practice.
If you have not already nominated a pharmacy to receive your electronic prescriptions, please contact your preferred pharmacy to complete a nomination form.
By nominating a local pharmacy and requesting your prescriptions through the practice's Online Services, you will be able to pick up your medication direct from the pharmacy, without having to call or come in to the practice at all.
There is lots more information about the Electronic Prescribing Service here on the NHS Choices Website
